My Top 10 Most Emotional Sports Moments (Mostly Chicago Based)

To start off, any emotion goes here. Despare, joy, complete rage, etc...

Let's start with some honorable mentions:
*The last football game of my high school carreer
*The Devin Hester show ala The Cardinals
Devin Hester scores the game winning touchdown after the defense gets two of their own to give the Bears a 24-23 lead. Classic. (At this point you know this list is going to be good if this is an honorable mention.
*Kirk Steps up against the Rondo
After getting pushed into the scorer's table by Rondo in an important game 6 in the series, in which the bulls won by one in triple overtime. Kirk comes back with some words and has to be restrained by the bench players.

10. Team USA Hockey loses in finals
Just this past winter when hockey had been getting really exciting in America, not to mention Chicago, Canada comes in with home ice advantage and wins and steals our hearts.

9. Team USA (again) Soccer loses in Confederation Cup finals
What was an amazing run to the finals was unfortunately not capped off by a win. Hey at least we beat Spain!

8. The Bears beating Brett Farve twice his last year in GB

7. Brad Miller takes a hard foul and misses both free throws
What was an elbow to the face could have been a flagrant foul just about topped off this crazy violent series. While watching Brad miss his two free throws dizzy, all of Chicago was wondering how could the refs miss that call? Making those shots (or possibly more free throws) could have set us up for victory in the final game 7.

6. Bears beat the Vikings in OT on the cold tundra
Jay Cutler shows us, in about 6 seconds, what he SHOULD HAVE DONE all year long, with EASE. Damn good feeling either way. And the Saints thanked us heavily, as they ending up earning Home Field Advantage thru the playoffs.

5. Hawks WIN!
Alright, I'll admit I came on this season as did 50% of the fan base did. Thats why this is ranked so low, but it was still a beauty. I just wish it could have ended in a more explosive way. (I had no idea the goal went in at first for about 5 seconds) But the belated explosion of happiness was still a great feeling.

4. Devin Hester sets the pace for Superbowl XLI
Devin opened the door to what could have been an awesome game from the Bears. Instead Grossman got a little too sloppy. Otherwise this would probably be number 1.

Alright I'm going to cheat a little here since both of these next two examples are so closely resemblant.

3.5 Thome is the difference in Game 163
The game that sent the white sox to their death at the hands of the Rays. (The White Sox will get revenge soon enough)

3.0 I'D RATHER DYE THEN DISAPPOINT
In the 2005 World Series final game 4, J.D Singles to bring in the biggest run of nearly 90 years. You know he's STILL unsigned??

2. USA Wins a game of Soccer in the most dramatic fashion
I'm still gathering my thoughts on this. What a goal! What excitement!

1. Mark Buehrle pitches a perfect game against the HOT Devil Rays, Hawk calling the game, and The D-Wise Performance
Watching this game live, I knew Mark had it going from the start but only did I really start jumping up and down and pumping my fists and sweating was the 6th inning. Hawk Harrleson's voice still resonates through my brain. "Call your sons, call your daughters.. call your friends, call your neibors.." "ALEXEIIIIII" And his udder display of vocablulary. "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!! Thanks Hawk, it truly was an experience. And I can't ever, EVER forget that catch by D-Wise. My Man My Hero forever D WISE I LOVE YA HAWK I LOVE YA MARK B I LOVE YA.

BEARS 2009 PREVIEW (Updated 8/31/09)

Here is my 2009 Bears overview and my predictions for the season. (Yes this will be biased)

Pre-Season
There is no reason to go over pre season games, because anything can happen, and our starters won't be in every game. But it will be a good sign of things to come if we go 4-0. If we go 0-4 then don't be worried (but that won't happen).

Regular Season
Week 1: at Green Bay. Win. 1-0.
GB will be not used to their new defense yet so expect them to not be queued up to take on Hester and Greg Olsen deep, with Forte, Davis, and Bennett racking up short gains too. And hey, its GB our rivals, we will be fired up!

Week 2: vs. Pittsburg. Loss. 1-1.
I am very mixed with this match up. My beating Bears heart is aching to write our team down with a W, but my common sense is telling me that we might not be able to pull this off. With Jay Cutler taking snaps, we can expect every game to be a high scoring game. However, with the Steeler's Defense, a 4+ touchdown game might not be possible. So we will get some points up without a doubt, its just up to our defense to keep us in the game. If the defense can hold the Steelers to under 10 points we could win this 14-10. But I see the secondary to volatile against the pass and not used to the new positions that they will most likely be in. So I have this game down as a loss. I won't be surprised if the Bears pull off a win here however. If we lose, don't worry, there's still plenty of season to go! (As a side note, if we win this game, then we will win the match up between the Cardinals for sure.)

Week 3: vs. Seattle. Win. 2-1
I keep hearing about how good people think the Seahawks are. I can agree that their QB is good, so if he's on fire our secondary could be in trouble. On the other hand, we still have Cutler who, if he throws enough TD's we can win the game on offense alone. Our D will give up at the most 17 points, mostly because of the DB's. The pass rushing will be alive in this game as the season heats up.

Week 4: at Detroit. Win . 3-1
Not much to say here. There is almost no way we can lose this game, even with Stafford starting, which he probably will. Easy W, like last year. Stay tuned for the sweep. High scoring game on our side.

Week 5: Bye Week. 3-1. (Or Possibly 4-0, which would be Excellent. I like this Bye Week because it gives the team extra time to prepaire for the Falcons the next week.

Week 6: at Atlanta. Win. 4-1. I don't know how concerned Cutler will be after last year's tough loss to the Falcons at home, but he will pick it up from his teammates who were there. We will win this on the road.

Week 7: at Cincinnati. Win. 5-1. Another shootout from Cutler and Hester. The Ocho Cinco show will be going on during the offense's rest, which won't be a problem. Defense comes up with turnovers to win the game.

Week 8: vs. Cleveland. Win. 6-1. In the offseason we basically traded John St. Clair for Kevin Shaffer, this should not affect the outcome of the game at all however. Another no brainer. Not much here to say except Bears Win!!

Week 9:vs. Arizona. Win. 7-1. There won't be snow on the ground yet, so don't expect to be able to use that to the Bear's advantae. The Bears will win this one if the D steps up against the Super Bowl runner up. Also, if the Bears pull off a victory over Pitsburgh, then we will surely win this one. Bears win a close one.

Week 10: at San Francisco. Win. 8-1. Another interesting game. Much like the Seahawks, they have much improved over last season, and everyone claims this as the 'sleeper' team of the year. I say hell no to that and hell yes to the win!!

Week 11: vs. Philadelphia. Loss 8-2. Bears will lose this game. Eagles are very very good this year. The only hope we have is if McNabb gets injured along the way before this game. This loss won't hurt our playoff chances, just our hearts. We might get a rematch during the NFC championship.

Week 12: at Minnesota. Loss. 8-3 We gotta lose one to the Vikings. If we pull this off, the the NFC north will be ours. When this game happens we should be #1 with the Viks close behind. AP will run all over us again. At least they don't have Farve.

Week 13: vs. St. Louis. Win 9-3. No question about this win. Same as last year, but this time we have Jay.

Week 14: vs. Green Bay. Win 10-3. This is where we complete our sweep of the Packers. They will be used to their new defense but not enough to stop Jay Cutler.

Week 15: at Baltimore. Loss 10-4. Their Defense is just too good for us. And its on the road. We will have surges but ultimately, we will lose this low scoring game.

Week 16: vs. Minnesota. Win. 11-4.

Week 17: at Detroit. Win 12-4. Easy win. Puts us on top of the NFC. Good season boys.

Even though I have the Bears down as 12-4, I can see them going 13-3 at the most. Anyone who says 14-2 is pushing it. Although 11-5 is in sight if we slack off. The key to this season is chemistry between the QB and our recieving core. And our Defense needs to constantly get turn overs and the DB's need to step up. I will look forward to seeing the offence, and the new LB Pisa play. Don't forget our extremely good special teams! If this all comes together, this could be a year to remember.

Total Recall

Since a kid, I've enjoyed any Schwarzenegger (at least the ones I could get my hands on). This one adds to the list. 'Total Recall' is not your average action flick. Watching the first 15 minutes or so will change your mind right away. I was caught off guard when I realized that this movie had brain to match its brawn. And above that, it has a few scenes were there is recognizable humor. And of course a few signature Arnold lines. You'll have to watch the movie, I don't want to spoil the fun. Check it out!
